I spent the Easter holidays and incidentally, Ramadan too, in the beautiful, colourful country of Morocco.
Staying in 3 different Riads in central Marrakech for the first few days, followed by a beautiful B&B an hour south, closer to the Atlas Mountains. Here, I used this as a base to visit the mountains and many Kasbah's including the famous one, Ait Benhaddou, setting of many famous films and TV including Laurence of Arabia, Game of Thrones and Gladiator. In fact, when I was there, the Gladiator 2 set was being created ready for filming to begin!
In Marrakech, you must stay in a Riad for an authentic Moroccan experience. They are also close to all the main tourist sites and of course the winding souks where you can easily spend many hours getting lost in the streets, smells and haggling!
